The collection Unique Standard, questions our perception of various materials. What happens when we combine the original material with surfaces that try to imitate its appearance? {---}
For this new furniture range Folkform invited collectors to take part in the design process. Each piece is a one-off, made from a donated herbarium or insect from the collector’s collection. The donated specimens have been added to wet chipboard, so when pressed, a permanent organic decoration is embedded into the masonite hardboard. {---}

How do we add value to materials such as the humble masonite hardboard? By combining wood fibres with other organic material it has been possible to give this down-to-earth material an entirely new look. Natural flowers have been inserted into the huge masonite presses to embed a permanent organic decoration. {---}
In this collection, FOLKFORM was interested in exploring the brutal aesthetics of a bare machine. The lamp is inspired by the movement of the huge gearwheels in the hardboard factory. The lamp slowly rotates around its axis, transferring the movement to the next module. {---}

The new pieces explore the collision between mass-produced and handmade articles, where crafts meet industry, the machine meets the hand. Can something new be created when traditional handicraft is incorporated into existing industrial manufacturing processes? {---}
The collection Hidden Layers is a number of cabinets, where experiments were carried out using different surfaces and materials, to re-create cracks and natural wear. {---}
